Well, here I am only a week into the reading and I am already 3 days behind. Not a great way to start, but I will catch up.
This reading also contains a lot of great verses. I like when Nephi is telling his brothers in chapter 17 verses 50-51, "If God had commanded me to do all things I could do them... ...if the Lord has such great power, and has wrought so many miracles among the children of men, how is it that he cannot instruct me, that I should build a ship?"
These scriptures are more examples of Nephi's great faith and his leadership over his brethren. It's also a great help for me, that when things seem too hard for me, to know that the Lord can help me accomplish it, if I just rely and have faith in him to help me.
Laman and Lemuel were given so many miracles and experiences of angels appearing to them and being shocked and yet they still rebelled in the end. They chose to follow Satan, even with such great parents and brothers they still rebelled against Nephi. So, it just goes to show, that even if we are given experiences of definite proof of Heavenly Father's hand in our lives, if our hearts are not in the right place, it won't matter.
